In modern society, alone time is quite rare.
Apart from spending time closely with my family every day, I also enjoy my alone time! What I mainly do is reading and exercising. Recently, I’ve been trying to get up one hour earlier every day. During the time when others are still sound asleep, I immerse myself in reading.
When can we stop our hurried steps? When can we experience the beautiful world with our hearts? Only by not seeking externally but cultivating inwardly can we calm our minds and feel the beauty.
Sometimes I ask myself in my heart: Is what I have really what I want? What are the true necessities of life? Why is it that after possessing so many abundant materials, it becomes increasingly difficult to obtain the simplest happiness? How on earth should we get along with ourselves and with nature?
Life can take on many forms. As long as we find our own positions, work hard on our own, and bloom alone, it can also be a kind of beauty.
One should live for oneself in life, plan and create one’s own life, and not depend on others. Even a life of poverty and simplicity can be a happy and dignified one.
I like my alone time, which gives me more time at my own disposal and allows me to do many things I like. When I’m alone, I can write in my diary while listening to music; or practice calligraphy while listening to an audiobook; sometimes I’ll also write stories… It’s so fulfilling!
Perhaps we can’t go and live in seclusion in the forest like Thoreau to explore life, but we can still cultivate inner peace in our daily lives: Keep materials to a minimum and make our hearts rich!
